Intellectual Property Case conducted under the Shorter Trials Scheme
We have recently been acting in a trade mark infringement litigation in the High Court for the owner of a household name trade mark against a competitor. In its sector, the trade mark in question is one the UK’s top most recognised and best-selling brands.
Not only was the financial value of the claim significant but also the competitor had to be stopped in order to prevent dilution of our client’s trade mark through use of the competitor’s similar brand name. Unchallenged use by one competitor could have launched a free for all by others.
The case is notable for being conducted under the relatively new Shorter Trials Scheme (aimed to achieve faster and cheaper results).
