We're delighted to have advised the shareholders of John Liscombe Limited.

We're delighted to have advised the shareholders of John Liscombe Limited on their sale to Electrocomponents U.K Limited, a subsidiary of Electrocomponents PLC.

John Liscombe Limited (‘Liscombe’) is a leading specialist supplier of high-risk hand protection and PPE products to industrial blue-chip customers in the UK and the Netherlands. Founded in 1873, Liscombe has been in the Morris family since the early 1900’s. From 1952 Roger Morris joined the company and took the company from glove manufacturing to be one of the leading distributors of PPE in the United Kingdom. Liscombe is one of Newport's oldest companies celebrating it's 140th year in 2013. Roger Morris' sons Richard and Stephen are the company's joint managing directors.

Stephen Morris, Managing Director of Liscombe, commented: "Becoming part of the Electrocomponents group will accelerate our growth in industrial markets.  We have the opportunity to expand beyond our existing customer base by utilising the scale and international spread of the Group, leveraging their industry-leading digital offer and expertise. We were pleased to be advised throughout the acquisition process by Ian and his team at EMW, and were very impressed by their practical and professional approach to all aspects of the transaction, and the support they were able to provide our team.”

Ian Morris, Principal in the Corporate team at EMW, commented:We were delighted to support the Liscombe shareholders through this process which threw up some interesting challenges at times. We congratulate Stephen, Richard and the rest of the Liscombe shareholders on their successful exit and wish Stephen and Richard well in the next part of their journey as part of Electrocomponents.”

Our team was led by Ian Morris and assisted by Hollie Tompkins, Sharon Percival, Rhiannon Penney and Sophie Clarke.

The shareholders received corporate finance advice from Succession Corporate Finance.
