UK healthcare provision is strengthened by £2m investment into GPDQ

We recently acted for IW Capital, a private equity firm, that successfully completed a £2m Series A Fundraise into online GP service, GPDQ.

The investment from private equity specialists IW Capital will be used to secure GPDQ’s leading position in the market working with the NHS, employers and insurers. Specifically, by bolstering sales and account management, generating leads through increased marketing activity and the evolution of the technology platform.

Ross Hayward, who led the EMW team, commented “We’re delighted to have advised IW Capital on their £2m Series A Fundraise for GPDQ. This will enable GPDQ to further support the NHS through the current pandemic and expand on the already great work they are doing for the online GP service. It was a pleasure to be involved on a transaction that can add so much value to the NHS and the public that will need them at this time.”

Sanjay Patel, Investment Director at IW Capital, comments: “I would like to thank the team at EMW, and Ross Hayward in particular, for their professionalism on this transaction. It was a pleasure to work with EMW as they advised us on the investment into GPDQ, particularly in the current climate. A genuinely great team to work with, they completed the deal under time pressure whilst still focusing on giving pragmatic and sensible advice.”

Our team was led by Ross Hayward with Simon Arkell as Principal supervision and support from Sharon Percival and Amanda deBruyn. Employment support by Priya Magar and Hannah Morrow.

A Series A Fundraise is the initial step after Seed Funding for a start-up, and businesses looking to take on this investment will need to be able to demonstrate a consistent key performance indicator, like annual revenue. If successful, businesses at this stage can expect to see rounds raised up to £10m to help them grow.

If you’d like to talk to one of our start-up specialists, or find out more about this update, please get in touch with Ross Hayward.

Our corporate team advise companies, management teams, investors and debt providers from business start-ups and first round finance agreements through to mergers and acquisitions, management buy outs, development funding and then selling.
